Nine unprecedented styles from the latest collection designed for Louis Vuitton by Virgil Abloh, who passed away last year, were presented in Bangkok. Announcing that it will hold a special fashion show on Tuesday, Louis Vuitton brought these pieces together with the fans of the brand and the designer with a live broadcast on June 1st. These nine styles from Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2022 collection highlight three different themes: “being an adult, a global perspective and the creative cycle”.
Abloh, who died unexpectedly in November at the age of 41, was said to have completed 95% of the collection. In addition to the fashion show in Bangkok, which has the same set of the ‘Louis Dreamhouse’ fashion show created in Paris, Vuitton has produced a movie titled ‘I Dreamt of You’ with director Sivaroj Kongsakul. “Based on the director’s own childhood memories, the story chronicles the experience of an 11-year-old boy exploring his surroundings in the Thai countryside. It also illustrates Virgil Abloh’s ‘Youth is global’ ideology,” said Louis Vuitton, and organized a show as a tribute to Abloh.
Emphasizing this ideology in an interview in 2019, Abloh said, “We can go to India, Kansas or Cuba but wherever we go our focus will be youth, when you are not programmed and taught to do things and think and wear things. And in this way, you realize that young people all over the world are doing the same thing. This basically proves something, we are all one.”
The designs, which will be available in Louis Vuitton stores in August, will meet fashion lovers as Virgil Abloh’s latest Louis Vuitton collection.
