David Harbor is improving his resume as a badass in the very first trailer for “Violent Night,” a vacation thriller including the “Complete stranger Things” star as Santa Claus.
Under the instructions of Norwegian filmmaker Tommy Wirkola, Harbor plays a grizzlier, more rueful variation of Kris Kringle, who is anything however jolly in the trailer. On Christmas Eve, (Not-So) Saint Nick experiences a household being imprisoned by a group of mercenaries and is required to take matters into his own hands.
Harbor is signed up with by an ensemble that consists of Webcam Gigandet, Beverly D’Angelo and John Leguizamo. The script was penned by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who formerly composed the very first and 2nd live-action “Sonic the Hedgehog” films.
Minute unique screening of “Violent Night” will be revealed to an audience at New york city Comic Con on Oct. 7, nearly 2 months prior to the movie’s best. Harbor initially teased the job at CinemaCon in April, where the star spoke with a jam-packed home at Caesar’s Palace.
“Who does not enjoy an excellent action film, right?” Harbor asked the crowd of convention participants per syfy. “How about Christmas films? So, what about a motion picture that’s an excellent action film and the best Christmas film in one? ‘Pass away Difficult.’ F***ing ‘Pass away Difficult.’ Now what if… wait a minute, wait a minute. What if kickass director Tommy Wirkola and the badass manufacturers at 87North, you understand, the maniacs who did ‘Atomic Blonde’ and ‘John Wick’ and ‘No one’ and ‘Hobbs [&] Shaw,’ lagged all of it? And, wait a minute, what if I starred in it as fucking Santa Claus?”
“Violent Night” strikes theaters Dec. 2, starting the holiday by spreading out cheer and spilling blood. See complete trailer listed below.
