Romee Strijd is expecting her second baby with fiance Laurens van Leeuwen. Of course, their little daughter Mint is also her sister… The 26-year-old Victoria’s Secret angel announced that she was pregnant with her Instagram post on Wednesday; “Soon we will be a family of 4. Waiting Impatiently”.
In the photo where they shared the happy news, the whole family posed with their looks in white. The pregnant star was showing off her sweet tummy as she smiled at her 31-year-old wife. The couple’s 1-year-old daughter, Mint, bent over to kiss her mother’s growing belly.
The Dutch model shared a photo of her first pregnancy in 2020 and her current pregnancy side by side in her story. At the time, she described her struggles to conceive following her diagnosis of Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), giving the happy news that “we will soon be a family of three.” “Being a mother…my biggest dream,” Strijd told her followers at the time. “I was afraid it would never happen again because I was told it was harder to have a baby naturally.” The model, who hasn’t had her period for seven years, revealed in the middle of her career that she put “too much pressure on her body”.
“I guess my weight wasn’t good for my body to function properly and couldn’t handle the constant traveling,” she added. “I started researching natural remedies for PCOS and came to the conclusion that I needed to do much less high-intensity training, restrict food, be nice to myself, and take breaks when needed.” Strijd also tried supplements and acupuncture. He moved to the Netherlands to be closer to his family.
Her younger daughter, Mint, was born in December 2020. The new mom welcomed her baby on Instagram: “I feel so lucky to finally have you in my arms. We are so in love with you!!!”
Tiny celebrated his first birthday with a “Winter Wonderland” themed party last year. “This year has been so special. You make us smile every day (and tire us out every morning)” she wrote via Instagram in December 2021.
Leeuwen proposed to their longtime girlfriend Romee in January while on vacation in Switzerland. The groom-to-be shared his engagement saying “Let’s grow old together”; at the time of writing, Strijd wrote: “I said YES.”
