Ralph Lauren is coming to the West Coast. The designer will present the spring 2023 men’s and women’s collections on October 13 in Southern California. This is the designer’s first trip to the West for a runway show, despite owning a 16,000-square-foot ranch in Colorado, and West has influenced his brand’s iconography over the years.
No further details have been disclosed at this stage, except that the show will be a “unique Ralph Lauren exclusive fashion experience.”
For her latest runway show, Lauren turned a gallery at the Museum of Modern Art into a stylish replica of her Fifth Avenue apartment in March and hosted guests for a show that felt like a landmark for the brand. It was a cool runway show led by Gigi and Bella Hadid, Shalom Harlow, Tyson Beckford, and a host of other model personalities of all ages.
This came after a runway break of nearly three years. Lauren chose to give an intimate presentation that hosted less than 100 people, including Jessica Chastain, “Euphoria” star Angus Cloud (face of the fragrance Polo), “Succession” Jeremy Strong, and singer Janelle Monáe.
Ralph Lauren follows a number of luxury brands, including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Saint Laurent, who in recent years have held runway shows that take advantage of the rich natural landscape in Southern California and are noted for their proximity to Hollywood stars.
Lauren has dressed Hollywood names including Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Ryan Reynolds, J Balvin, and Jon Batiste for this year’s Met Gala, and Jennifer Lopez is said to be making her own wedding dress.
