We never ever thought we would begin to see the time: Jason Momoa is starting September with a new haircut, and now we’re not only speaing frankly about a trim that is little. Ten Sept. 5, the “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” star shared a video on Instagram of him ditching his signature shoulder-length hairstyle for a dramatic, incredibly fresh buzz cut.
At the start of the video, Momoa says he’s “shaving off the hair” as he holds up his recently cut braids and a person off camera continues to shave the sides of his head. He then runs his fingers over his newly shaved head and says, “Oh, man — I’ve never even felt the wind right there.”
Finally, he explains the reasoning behind this drastic change, and it’s for a cause that is good. “carrying it out for single-use plastic materials. I am sick and tired of these bottles that are plastic we gotta stop. Plastic forks, all that sh*t. Sh*t goes into our land, goes into our ocean . . . The things in our ocean, it’s just so sad. So, please, anything you can do to eliminate plastics that are single-use yourself.”
in the caption of this video clipMomoa writes, “Heres to new beginnings let’s spread the aloha. be better at protecting our land and oceans. we must cut use that is single out of our lives and out of our seas. plastic bottles, plastic bags, packaging, utensils all of it. let’s aloha our ‘āina together aloha j.”
He also tagged Mananalu Water, which is the aluminum water that is bottled Momoa founded. He began the business in 2019 in an attempt to decrease the usage of synthetic water bottles instead of aluminum — an material that is infinitely recyclable.
