A man has revealed the simple massage trick that claims to help you fall asleep in as little as two minutes.

The health expert, otherwise known as ‘Younger You Doc’ on social media, shared a TikTok video showing how he simply rubbed two fingers on his wrist in a circular movement until he nodded off.

“All you’ve got to do is rub that spot on your wrist for like two to three minutes,” he said.

Gently stimulating this pressure point is said to be associated with calming your mind – helping you to fall asleep faster.

“The wrist spot is actually an acupressure spot that has come up in several studies,” he said.

His video has been viewed more than 225,000 times with many confirming the sleep hack “works”.

“Oh wait I thought rubbing my wrist would wake me up – it made me more sleepy,” one wrote.

Another asked: “That spot on my wrist rubs on my desk while typing. Is this why I’m sleepy by 2pm?”

One agreed to the comment, saying: “Same! That explains it!”

Sleep is crucial

Justin Augustin shared a TikTok video showing the “mind blowing” method that’s said to have been developed in the military to allow soldiers to fall asleep at any time, any place.

“Sleep for a soldier is crucial. Even on the battlefield, when the environment is extremely uncomfortable and there’s a lot of noise happening,” he said.

“Now according to my research, this was developed mainly for fighter pilots who need 100 per cent of their reflexes and focus, which we all know decreases with the lack of sleep.”

He said the technique soldiers use to nod off was “quite simple”.

Start by relaxing every part of your body, from head to toe.

“First, you need to calm your body and systematically relax and shut down each part of your body from head to toe,” Justin said.

“Start by relaxing the muscles in your forehead. Relax your eyes, your cheeks, your jaw and focus on your breathing.

“Now go down to your neck and your shoulders. Make sure your shoulders are not tensed up. Drop them as low as you can and keep your arms loose to your side, including your hands and fingers.”

While you’re in a relaxed position, Justin suggested imagining a “warm sensation” going from your head all the way down to your fingertips.

“Now take a deep breath and slowly exhale, relaxing your chest, your stomach down to your thighs, knees, legs and feet,” he said.

“Again, imagine this warm sensation going down from your heart all the way to your toes.”

Justin said it’s important to clear your mind of any stresses.

“To do this, think of two scenarios,” he said.

“One, you’re lying in a canoe on a calm lake with nothing but a clear blue sky above you.

“Two, you’re lying in a black velvet hammock in a pitch black room.”

If at any time, you find yourself thinking of anything else or start to get distracted, he said you need to repeat the words “don’t think” for 10 seconds.

Justin concluded: “So that’s the technique, you’re supposed to practice every night for six weeks.”
