Daniel Dubois: I Want To Make a Statement in Devastating Fashion on Trevor Bryan

Heavyweight contender Daniel Dubois is aiming to make the biggest statement possible when he face WBA “regular” champion Trevor Bryan on June 11 in Miami, Florida.

Dubois saw action in the United States last year, when he knocked out Juan Carlos Rubio during a Showtime pay-per-view event at Rocket Morgage Fieldhouse on August 29 in Cleveland, Ohio.

The winner Dubois vs. Bryan will collide with the victor of the upcoming WBA final eliminator between Hughie Fury and Michael Hunter, which kicks off at the AO Arena Manchester on July 2.

“I want to make a statement in devastating fashion. By any means necessary, but I’m looking to make a statement,” Dubois told Sky Sports.

“This is an important fight. It’s a fight for my career and I’ve gotta fight my heart out, go in there and do the best I can and more. I’ve changed things up. We’ve made the necessary changes, so I’m all systems ready to go.”

“I’m going 100 percent confident and ready to do my job. It’s gonna be a totally different environment and I’m relishing that. I want to just soak it in. Camp’s going well, and now it’s just the final touches. We ‘re ready now – it’s just time for the trip.”

The win would catapult Dubois’ standing in the heavyweight ranks. Dubois has won two in a row, both by knockout, since suffering a stoppage loss to Joe Joyce in 2020. The loss sent Dubois’ career spiraling down, but the 24-year-old is still viewed as one of the most dangerous fighters in the weight class – with 16 knockouts in his 17 wins.
