Dear Amy: I have a “2nd time around” question.
In our late teenagers some 45 years back, “Bret” and I shared rather an infatuation. However it cooled when various college options put 1,500 miles in between us.
We lost touch (no texting or Facebook at that time).
We each wed however are now single once again, due to my divorce 15 years back and Bret losing his other half to COVID in 2020.
Neither people had kids.
Now we’re both 63, and we just recently linked online. We’re feeling a little restored trigger of our long-ago love. Bret believes we can regain what we when had.
I’m not as sure about that, more simply interested at the possibility. I believe how in lots of methods we’re really various individuals today. We’re still 900 miles apart however discussing making sees.
If we were to check out a reunion, how do we keep a fond nostalgia of the past from clouding or taking on our vision today?
Likewise, do you believe Bret’s higher passion could be a rebound from losing his other half relatively just recently?
He has actually stated he was really near her, they ‘d been wed for 34 years, and her death struck him hard.
