You ‘d be tough pushed to discover anything from another location capitivating about imperialism, however when Queen Elizabeth II rose to the throne of England in 1952, at age 25, there was unexpectedly a tip of heat to the monarchy. And, thanks to the Queen’s court-side buddies, that stuck around on for years: More than 30 corgis were by her side throughout her reign, all of which were as faithful you ‘d get out of descendants of Susan, the corgi who chaperoned the Queen on her honeymoon. (Though like any royal household, they had their reasonable share of drama themselves; less than a years after among them fell victim to a relentless bull terrier coming from the Queen’s child, Princess Anne, another of the Queen’s corgis supposedly assaulted a Norfolk terrier coming from Princess Beatrice.) Technically, the death of Whisper, Susan’s last descendant, marked completion of their reign in April 2019. Yet all was not lost; Sweet, the Queen’s dorgi, aka dachshund-corgi, is still alive and together with 3 extra pet dogs (consisting of a cocker spaniel called Lissy) kept the Queen business throughout her last years. Here, a visual gratitude of the Queen’s buddies over the years– including her extremely first (and far from regally called) corgi Dookie.
