Amira Rasool, founder and CEO of The Folklore, the platform that is leading discovering and shopping luxury African and Black-owned brands, undoubtedly agrees. “Over the years due to my work, i have done plenty of work looking for brand new brands. A number of the best brands have, love, 2K supporters with no press, therefore if it absolutely wasn’t for my work, I would personally have not likely had because diverse and unique of a wardrobe,” she informs BAZAAR.com.
The joy of bringing developers to the Folklore’s fold goes beyond simply filling her cabinet. Rasool is into the position that is special of her business alongside every brand The Folklore works with; help and support go both ways. “I love seeing the brands that were once small, one- or teams that are two-people into effective and industry-leading brands,” she states.
Rasool dresses for the work in exactly what she calls statement that is“subtle” that’s equal parts comfort and proportion. Some days, her uniform is a linen that is wide-cut, in other cases a fitted crop top with wide-leg jeans or a skirt. “I genuinely believe that my design states from living my life to the fullest and in a manner that makes me comfortable. that I care about how I present myself to the world and I like to be creative,” she explains, “but I’m not willing to let fashion prevent me”
